At the opening ceremony we announced the nominees for the Best Paper Award and the Best Student Paper Award at ISWC 2018.
The nominees for the Best Paper Award are:
- Representativeness of knowledge bases with the generalized Benford’s law by Arnaud Soulet, Arnaud Giacometti, Béatrice Markhoff and Fabian Suchanek.
- That’s interesting, tell me more! Finding descriptive support passages for explaining knowledge graph relationships by Sumit Bhatia, Purusharth Dwivedi and Avneet Kaur.
- Practical ontology pattern instantiation, discovery, and maintenance with reasonable ontology templates by Martin G. Skjæveland, Daniel P. Lupp, Leif Harald Karlsen and Henrik Forssell.
The Best Paper was awarded to That’s interesting, tell me more! Finding descriptive support passages for explaining knowledge graph relationships by Sumit Bhatia, Purusharth Dwivedi and Avneet Kaur. Thanks to Elsevier for sponsoring the award!
The nominees for the Best Student Paper Award are:
- Ontology driven extraction of research processes by Vayianos Pertsas, Panos Constantopoulos and Ion Androutsopoulos.
- Towards empty answers in SPARQL: Approximating querying with RDF embedding by Meng Wang, Ruijie Wang, Jun Liu, Yihe Chen, Lei Zhang and Guilin Qi.
- Canonicalisation of monotone SPARQL queries by Jaime Salas and Aidan Hogan.
In order to be eligible for the Best Student Paper, the first author had to be a student at the time of submission.
